If its red con, no spells will land. Not even fire line necro dot or lifetap. Cant imagine a wizard in there!

as a necro how far do you get into Time (what phase)? I was thinking it wasn't going to be possible for a necro, or caster to complete the instance solo, but I could be wrong.

Reds starting in phaste 3 with waves before avatar of elements. Its all pet from there on out.

I'd think a necro could do lots. Spamming 20,000 point lifetap and tanking for pet.

I can't see a necro doing the armies later on in later phases...I guess you FD/split them but it would take FOREVER and currently there is 2 hours time limit on the whole instance anyway. I can't see how it would be done. My concession with Time was that it was going to need to a joint project (some classes would not be able to solo) that is why I 'left in' the raid requirement. But I am open to the idea of altering slightly.... but i am not open to the idea of making it soloable and trivializing the content in the process.gotta go to lunch...be back later

I like the idea of not being able to solo it. Maybe making lifetaps not sticking? Its just seems like a necro is the worst class to have in there. Other than my pet im worthless.

Wizards, enchanters, and magicians feel your pain. Even with the bonuses I still kind of think nuking is a total waste of time when I take on a tough mob. It's just an estimate but I would be surprised if I even did 5% of the damage to something like Pyrol-whatever (the frog in Plane of Fire in the courtyard). I usually mala/malosini then nuke when the pet has decent health. But when you spend 4 seconds on your biggest nuke, when it isn't resisted, and it seems like the mob's health dropped 1 or 2% when you hit for max... Just seems like a waste of time. And if what you say about Time mobs is true, I'm strictly a pet cleric in there. God only knows what a wizard would do. Lures would work I guess, but I can't imagine dps being very good using those. Probably about 50% of a beastlord or bard's melee damage, if that. I kind of think it would parse lower if anyone were doing that. What I said about the necro is basically I think my mage tanks better than my pet sometimes. I figured you could stand in there and keep yourself healed with taps.

Yea, i am in the same boat. I started a wizard level 50, but im having second thoughts given the nuke dmg. I was hoping with the crit increase dmg and high crit it would be high dps. Im pretty sure im wrong. Nuking really isnt worth it, i only Tap if i need hp.

Just to give some side input from other EQ servers I've played.
This is a common PoTimeB problem for all servers all around. Their resists are really really high.
It requires the admin/coder to reduce their resists to manageable levels for your nukers / magic users to land your spells.
Hopefully Osiris can reduce it some and not trivialize content? I wouldn't know how to test it out either.

iirc timeb is set to around 150 resist which is 75%. We lowered this to stay between 25-50% depending on the mob/boss.
