I really think the nukes on mages or wizards (especially wizzies) should be increased or scaled significantly more. I have a 65 mage with possibly the best armor intellect wise and with 3k int her best nuke only does 40k. Yea, That is a lot of damage but comparable to like mobs in time that have millions of hp, they don't compete at all. Pets for casters are doing great, the mage pet will hit for 22k per hit at 3k int but it seems like the only reason to make a mage is for their pet, their nukes are useless comparable to their pet. Wizards on the other hand they dont have a pet and just nukes so i feel like dmg scale should be increased at least in the later levels (60-65). The dmg from nukes from 1-60 are fine imo, its just when you start getting into harder mobs the nukes fall off drastically compared to a melee or a caster with a pet. Also nukes get resisted A LOT in raid areas.

Not to mention with the "big nukes" you are tying yourself up for around six or seven seconds. Not worth it.
Not really worth it to cast a single spell frankly. In general these kinds of mobs are immune to non-damaging type stuff like snare and root. Plus they summon. A lot of them are immune to slow as well, or are designed to take multiple slow attempts with EVERY possible debuff available (Tash line, Malo line, whatever the druid ones are, etc).
And dot's are frankly even more of a joke too to be honest.
How in the world did you get to 3k int? My mage (which I played here a long time) only got up to 1800+, and that was with a few pieces of GoD armor.
Granted my character wasn't really very powerful so I didn't farm the elementals for the best pieces in class. But I had the GoD boots with Ritual Summoning.
And my character had no chance in my opinion to do Time by himself, so I basically haven't played since I got the Time key.
But 3k? I mean I finished all the aa I possible could except for some of the stuff on the "General" tab or whatever it was. But I couldn't imagine getting to 3k with that guy.

i have a mixture of qvic and time pieces making around 1950 ish and using infusion of the resolute give me 1k int to make it 3k just about.
personally whenever he gets a chance i really think he should look into casters, getting bigger nukes and making less resists. not to mention when i do get a cast off they resist part of it so i only do 5-6k per spell hit. so annoying

-I have something in the works for spells getting resisted. I need to come up with a quest/task worthy enough that will yield such an item that will help with resists. -The idea of nukes/DoT's increasing from 60-65 is intriguing. I kinda dont want it to just happen, I would like to put in some type of 'quest/task' or some type of mechanism that will trigger that DPS increase

That idea sounds great! A quest or task would be perfect in this type of situation imo, brings more fun to the server that way. as long as its not crazy like doing ldon which you cant get in alone Thanks for the consideration Osiris!

Task for custom augs, slot 8 only (raid) that increase spell dmg by x amount. Id say at least 400% but maybe more since melee is so far ahead. Can do the same thing with heals.

thanks for the ideas here...this will most likely be implemented in some form.
the post 60 DPS increase got me thinking (which can be dangerous sometimes) about how the post 60 scaling is working; then it lead me to the issues with under lvl 28 scaling.
Last night I was looking the mod'd code, and it seems to happen every couple of months where I look at the code and realize it can be done so much better. So that is where I was last night, with the thought of, "I can do this better." So last night, on the testbox I tested out some newly re-done code with regards to some spell DPS, and it went VERY WELL. I am now able to independently control the scaling from certain lvls, for example I can scale differently at lower levels, then other levels (such as lvl 60-65). I am going to need probably a couple of days to recode and test everything, but I am very confident it will go well.
I bring all this up because along with the code re-write, I am going to be incorporating some form of the suggestions in this thread. Whether its the spell dmg aug, and/or the 'prestige' idea, changes are in the works.
The code re-write is somewhat extensive, as any mod scaling that was done previously is going to be re-done. That combined with the subsequent testing is what will take up the majority of the time over the next 2/3days.
