This is just a think out loud kind of thing.
Seems to me that if you are going to be capable of taking on a "boss mob" from melee distance (and since all of them summon AFAIK) you have to be capable of being able to tank that damage if you are going solo.
But if you can do that, then most likely anything short of a boss mob isn't going to be capable of being a problem.
Dunno I think parts of the game are way too easy. But I also think the attraction of the server is to be able to take on these kinds of things solo.
So to repeat what I said earlier, I'm not sure what is a good solution to this kind of problem. Maybe the status quo is better, but it sure seems like we pretty much go from boss mob to boss mob, with the others being speed bumps.
I've been toying with the idea of leveling a ranger solo from 1 to 65, with absolutely no twinkage, just what I can loot myself. If I do maybe I can post some insight.

Well having content that is only a gear check vs content that makes you think out the encounter and find a strategy to defeat it are two different things. IMO the latter is the best route.
