Hello. My stuck 'toons are all still stuck. My unstuck char's still find playing here nigh impossible. This (see ss) only a half hour into playing this morning, and about twenty minutes into burning lesson of the Devoted for AA's on my Cleric in the Crypt of Decay on a boss that he's had on "farm status" since beating Qvic weeks and weeks ago. This is evidently a Scaling issue; Raex's Lifeshock is only supposed to do 5k and is on a 60 second (1 minute) cooldown. everquest.allakhazam.com/db/spell.html?spell=1065I see you are doing what you can to keep your server running (I see the test server locked but populated by a single player alot), and for ordinary casual players like us, it's all been fun and truly appreciated for the times everything was running smoothly and characters could progress regularly and reliably.

STILL only two of my characters are playable; Fell and Lash
All others are stuck or naked or both; none are playable: Ekho (in PoK), Heck (in qeynos2), Zkar (in cabeast), Nock (in PoK), Styx (in PoK), and Elov (in PoK)
Have about a dozen screenshots of this, but they don't show anything that is not already obvious; they are out of food and drink, have no items on them whatsoever, not even their bank or shared slot items; some have buffs, most do not, most or all have some coin on them. About the only slash command that works for all of them is the /camp command, most or all cannot cast or chat, and do not seem to actually interact with the server- several ss's show the packet loss approaching red as the character camps out (with significant and noticeable lag or pauses in between the client displaying the empty/static zone and the character select screen).
This is true for both RoF1 and with UF clients using standard/stock spell and data files and loadouts, and even with the server specific spellfile and mods.

Thanks I logged into my account today and all my characters have no items or equipment or bank stuff anymore either. I checked 2 characters and exited the client and tried again to no avail. Not sure whats going on but Im sure he is working on it. Im taking a night off I guess!

sorry for not getting on this right away - the server is now running on the previous exe's before the new coding was introduced. So if scaling issue still persist at this point, its was there previously.
As far as stuck toons - I took a potshot guess at something and it may be fixed on the production server right now. However, I am researching/isolating the stuck toon thing on the TESTbox. I have isolated the issue with one toon (and have been able to replicate the fix after restoring db's), I can only hope that fix works for all toons(I think it will).

No worries, mate, I can only imagine how frustrating it's been for you too. I really am sorry that I am not more of a useful resource for you; my background is QA and Testing and troubleshooting and I indeed run a Wrath-era WoW Server. I know just enough SQL to keep things patched together and sometimes it's still not enough when bugs happen- they can avalanche.

ok, spell DPS should behaving as intended now. Stuck toons I could not duplicate, I logged in with each toon in both the 'styx/nock' account, the other account as well - all toons logged in with no problems on TEST. I then locked the production and all toons logged in to production (live) server with no problems.
Regardless, I had an idea of what the problems was, so I took an educated guess and conservatively attempted to pre-emptively solve the issue. If your toons are still stuck after now, then I'll try a little more aggressive approach.

EDIT: Okay, only my Monk is still stuck... he was in Qvic, then I used the [Return Home] feature of the RoF1 client (and other before it), and now he is indeed "stuck" in East Cabilis (cabeast) in front of his regular Iksar newbie trainer "Master Glox"- as soon as he logs in, the zone begins to crash; he has no buffs and cannot cast or chat. My last screenshot shows he has 99 AA's with (1) unspent... if this is unique to him, perhaps he has a bugged AA; can you remove all or reset those offline to rule out certain AA's?
I have noticed that things like extended ingenuity and spell casting reinforcement are somewhat buggy here; not working with spells/buffs like "Lesson of the Devoted" as they do on other emu servers.
Neither may be related, but so far, Zkar is the only bugged character that I and/or my family has.

P.S.- I kind of doubt that it related, but the Monk is the only character with the Iksar Skeleton Illusion clicky (Baron Yosig's Skeleton). It's been a valid item and buff for several expansions; one of the reasons I mention it however is that the buff has a significant hidden effect of a "faction modifier: PRO Sebilisian Empire, enough to make one un-KoS to certain undead creatures in weird places.
Bugged faction(s)? AA(s)?

removing 1 buff cast from nock (Nature's Recovery), freed up Zkar (on TEST he can log in).
I also removed that 1 spell from Zkar on the Live server...I logged into Live and got the spam that Master Glox did not respond to my greeting. Since it worked on TEST I just assumed(lol) it would be good on live, so I didn't do anything more. However on TEST, I was able to run around and zone multiple times and back to pok with no problems
Can you think of things that Meritia and Nock have in common? AA's, etc? (I'll be back later today to look more into it)

The spell effect for that faction modifier is not implemented in the source; that is why you get the 'unknown spell effect' message when it is cast, its referring to the 'faction modifier' portion of the clicky, not the illusion effect. For the time being, i have removed that spell effect (faction modifier) from the item, the illusion still works however. In addition to the spell effect not being implemented in the (my)source, the corresponding faction id it appears to be pointing to is not even in the faction table. so it appears multiple things need to be done to get that working

Things that our Druids have/had in common were mainly the extended buff AA's (however at the time the buffs were cast, Nock only had rank 1 of Spell Casting Reinforcement and Meritia has them maxxed and Spell Casting Reinforcement Mastery in Class) their gear is quite drastically different and I think Meritia may even have a worn Beneficial Buff Extension item with the Eterniostrum (sp?) +20% @lvl 67 buff effect... would be her belt iirc. Meritia is a much more highly developed character since that is her main, and my Druid is just a sort of an alt' character project for me.
I do not know how well the Emu keeps track of individual buff timers (guessing it is just a stored integer on log out/ zoning/ server save/ etc), but I have seen issues with buff counters especially in old compiles, so that it isn't the buff per se- but a giant or negative or "impossible" integer, and one would think that simply clearing all buffs would fix it... not sure that is so simple however, and spells like Nature's Recovery are notorious because they are technically a "short duration" beneficial spell but they do NOT go on the short duration counters (like bard sangs, arias, duration heals, etc), instead they go to the long duration buff bar and given a typical counter ID... the problems I have seen in the past are when the buff is technically "expired" (counter is zero) but there is a remainder being stored, or something telling the client there is a zero-duration buff, and when one zones or logs out during the very last tick of such long term buffs, the counters can get out of sync somehow (simply guessing here), so perhaps there is an invalid condition with one or more of the extended druid buffs (bracken, replenishment, pack spirit, or nature's recovery) ?
Hope this helps, I truly miss my Monk, but then one's characters online are a little like a virtual "family"- we all want them safe and sound, and rested up for our next shared adventure! =0)

Cannot connect tonight with either UF or RoF1 clients. I regret not having a Ti install on my new box, but guessing it is a client or expac allowance setting, server side.

Cheers I don't think its you. I cannot connect to the character select screen either. I can see the server on the list but once I try t connect it tries for about 30 seconds and kicks me back.

I changed up all my ports last night, I updated the port forwarding settings but I guess it didn't work.
I just changed everything again - the proper ports are testing as being open. Hopefully it should allow connections now.

Still no go, chief, sorry to say. Cannot connect with UF or ROF though we do see the Envy server up on the Emu Server List, and it's Green. It is possible it is an expansion or "allowed" client connection setting? It's my understanding that some server ops can turn off, or disallow, connections by various clients, but I personally have no understanding of EQ server software, just my limited experience with WoW Emus.
EDIT: Okay, as of now I can successfully log in. YAY! AND- my Monk, Zkar, is indeed now UNSTUCK and has successfully teleported to PoK... I just wish I knew how I could avoid my characters getting in these situations in the first place.
