I rolled my 3rd toon on the server, an Ikky SK, and he spawned with regular bags instead of Bags of the Tinkerers; The plate BP still only lists it as usable by 2 classes ( neither of which is an SK ) The helm doesn't include Iksars on the list of races that can equip it. I don't know, maybe the armor will be remedied by upgrading with a shard... But I still need some bags for him...( Slythius is his name )

yeah...I was thinking of having more 'seasonal' toons in pok...obviously I missed memorial day. I got an idea for july 4th, but that seems to be a ways off, maybe I will come up with something in the meantime.
one other thing, I did remove the need for a rogue to open doors in CoM, but the key(s) is still required. the lockpick requirement was removed from 2 different doors (but the actual keys are still needed)
2 things regarding this, I'm not sure if this will resolve the issue (because of my unfamiliarity with the quest mechanics), plus I cannot remember if I have rebooted the server since making those changes.
That beng said, the server will need to come down for a short time (probably tonight) because I am going to be moving the server box to a different area of my house. so downtime could be anywhere from 30-90-mins. Most likely this is going to happen tonight, or tomorrow night. if it happens tonight, it will be later (past 8pm pacific). if it happens tomorrow, it will be earlier probably between 5-7pm pacific.

The quest requires looting a specific item ( lucy.allakhazam.com/item.html?id=5664 ) from a Black Reaver for a turn-in. The Black Reavers may / may not chain spawn upon death. If the Reaver at the entrance chain spawns, and continues to do so until the item drops, it's not a problem, but if the item doesn't drop, and the chain breaks, then players are forced to move to the next Reaver spawn point, which requires using the elevator to go upstairs. The elevator is operated by using a temporary key dropped by one of the named mobs ( Neh'Ashir or Raq'Ashir, can't remember which atm )...but THEY spawn upstairs too, which is the reason for needing a rogue to pick the lock ( 200 skill required ) on the elevator. SO...you see the dilemma...

ok, so by removing the need for a lockpick on any door in CoM should resolve that correct? (of course you would still to get the appropriate keys). But the lockpick skill has definitely already been removed from the 2 doors. (just not sure if I am rebooted since then - too many late, 2-3am nights). Also, quick update on the server coming down. That is definitely happening tonight between 5-6pm pacific time. Downtime will be anywhere from 30-90mins. I'm converting my server/drum room for my niece, and moving the server to a different room in the house. Unfortuneatly, my drums are being moved to a friends house

I just went and checked on it. The elevator still gives me the message that it's locked and I'm not holding the key. ( There isn't a door per se to the elevator, it's a pad on the floor with an activator mechanism that's locked. ) The key drops from one of 2 mobs upstairs, but without a rogue to pick the lock, you can't get upstairs to kill one of them. So, still bottle-necked. The only way around it currently, is for the black reaver in the entrance hall to chain spawn,and drop the epic turn-in piece without having to go upstairs, which is determined solely by the chain-spawn rng...

what if the pad on the floor did not require a rogue to lockpick it?

It would still require a key that only drops upstairs. lol. The rogue lockpick was the work-around that Verant put in place to force people to group to do something...gaining a character's epic weapon, imo, should have been a solo quest from the beginning...and should have been tuned to be done by a single person from start to finish.

I see...I got an idea to make the key drop on the bottom floor. (i dont want to get rid of the keys, but do want to do away with the rogue requirement).
I might be able to make this happen tonight after I get everything situated.
The server was down a little longer that anticipated, but it should be back up by 9:30pm pacific.

for a temporary fix, I have set any mob in the zone to have a chance to drop the Key of Torsis. The drop rate will eventually be decreased (making it more rare) but any mob in the zone has a chance to drop the key.
by doing this, is there no need to go after the other key?

As long as there is a mechanism in place to allow access to the black reavers, and remove that bottleneck in the ranger epic, I'm a happy camper, lol. It doesn't have to be a stroll in the park, but Verant just made some parts of the epic questlines ( for all classes, not just rangers ) ridiculously tedious, imo.
