Okay I have been actively trying to go to new expansion over the past week or so, for a number of reasons.
This is a list of expansions past PoP:
The Legacy of Ykesha
The Lost Dungeons of Norrath
The Gates of Discord
The Omens of War
Dragons of Norrath
Depths of Darkhollow
Prophecy of Ro
The Serpent's Spine
The Buried Sea
Secrets of Faydwer
Seeds of Destruction
Underfoot
House of Thule
Veil of Alaris
Rain of Fear
Call of the Forsaken
The Darkened Sea
Let's not worry about anything past The Buried Sea for the moment.
So that leaves:
The Legacy of Ykesha
The Lost Dungeons of Norrath
The Gates of Discord
The Omens of War
Dragons of Norrath
Depths of Darkhollow
Prophecy of Ro
The Serpent's Spine
The Buried Sea
Okay Dulak is on Lizzy as a port, so it is intended Ykesha is in.
LDoN camps are around, and Osiris said he and Frisco did a mission. Good so far.
I think Gates and Omens are supposed to be in, but am not sure.
Okay I went to the "hub zones" in Legacy, Gates, and Omens. Mobs have factions, respond to hails, and that sort of thing. So while it may not be totally complete in the database, presumably they are functional like all previous content (no idea about instances, of which there appear to be a number in these expansions).
Now I can go to:
Lavaspinner's Lair in Dragons of Norrath.
Corathus Creep in Depths of Darkhollow.
Zones like Blackfeather Roost, Something-mesa, and Blightshade Moors in The Serpent's Spine.
As nearly as I can gather all these expansions are some mix of static and instanced zones. I have only been to the static zones. All the static zones appear to have similar properties in that there appears to be no factions (everything is indifferent, and you get no faction messages from killing anything). I can tell you that items drop from mobs in these zones.
In particular I was camping one mob in Blackfeather Roost for one particular item I intend to discuss in another post. However I got a number of items from "a griffin enforcer" that are pretty good, look like typical things you would get from PoP tier 1 and 2 zones. You know like Innovator's Ring level and Weighty Polearm level. Of course this isn't a boss mob.
Now I haven't thoroughly investigated what exactly you can get to in these zones, or looked at sites to see drops. But as nearly as I can tell nothing assists or anything like that. So you could just pick whatever mob you want, kill it, and nothing will bother to get involved.
I'm not sure it matters, PoP is pretty good, but with Mudflation these things might be past PoP Time or even Omens/God items with boss mobs.
Also nothing responds to hails in these zones so I don't think you can do quests or get instances.
Now as regards The Buried Sea. The hub zone (Barren Shore? Barren Coast) is reachable from Toxx forest. From what I gather they revamped Toxx for this, and it is reachable from this new version.
This leads to a problem, because the ROF2 client does NOT have the old version of Toxx forest in it. You get locked up if you go directly there from a stone in PoK or try to zone in from Paineel.
These other things like Prophecy of Ro and on, someone else can see what is going on with them. I wasn't real sure what to do exactly, as time goes on the alla pages for EQ are less and less useful. You find tons of great info on Velious zones, but squat for the other ones.
I also want to say that I'm not sure any of these expansion zones (from GoD on) are "right." I was dropping crap like a bad habit in Omens. I always thought that these were the expansions where maggots in the sewer could kick Rallos Zek's ass, but maybe I was wrong. I do remember Kenyii from Vengful saying once that in a previous version of Furn's server, all the guys with top end PoP gear that routinely soloed PoFire and PoWater and whatnot were cowering in huddled groups trying to take on mobs.
We also do not know what instances are working in GoD or Omens. There are a lot of them, and they are key to these expansions. But I wasn't grinding the faction or doing access quests to find out.
