I rebooted the box after applying windows updates and it didnt fully restart. It's 1:45am and its currently trying to do a restore (taking forever). I have to go to bed, I have work tomorrow -- I take a look more tomorrow after work.
It's possible I'll need to get a new box, I'll know more when I get home from work tomorrow (later today).
sorry for the downtime,
Osiris

If you need ANY donation funds to help support a new box or any other upgrades you need to help support this server and for all the time and effort you put into it, PLEASE don't hesitate to ask. We are more than willing to provide ANY support that we can offer for this amazing server you have put together for us.

So I got home, fired it up and it booted into windows with no problem at all.
I dont have an explanation why this happened. I didnt have any problems before last night.....nothing in any logs.
Last night after applying updates, it failed booting and went into recovery. it prompted to load a restore point, i said NO. it then rebooted and again, went into recovery AGAIN evetually prompted to go to a restore point (again). This time I selected YES and it hung on that screen for over 45mins. I never selected a restore point to restore to, I only said yes to start the restore point process. After 45 mins, I just turned the machine off. Comeback today after work, it boots fine - acting like nothing ever happened. (and the windows updates were applied)
/shrug
I almost just ordered a new box this morning, now I'm glad i didnt. I guess I'll montior over the next few days to see how things go. but its back up and running now.
The entire server is backed up, and if i need to go to a new box absolutely nothing will be lost or unrecoverable. If there is one thing I have completely locked down is redundancy with regards to server data.

the server is prompting again to reboot for windows updates - at this point its a crap shoot if it will boot after applying to updates. I'm going to wait until sunday night to reboot.
